THOUGHTS
In Romans 4, the NASB bible uses the word “CREDITED” for a most powerful
idea that refers to what God does for us that we cannot do! WE MUST
NOT MISS THIS THINKING! Read the context of Rom 7:24
“Wretched man that I am! Who will set me free from the body of this death?”
Romans 8 starts with “there is no condemnation...”! 1Pet
1:15 “but like the Holy One who called you, be holy yourselves also
in all [your] behavior;”. I know me... how can this be? My
answer flees to Rom 4:17b below! God “calls into being that
which does not exist.”
Because of my faith, God calls me... credits to me... reckons to me,,,
counts to me what I cannot be! Listen carefully... I NOW
“AM”... WHAT GOD CALLS ME! Give GLORY TO GOD!
Rom 4:13-17 For the promise to Abraham or to his
descendants that he would be heir of the world was not through the Law, but
through the righteousness of faith. 14 For if those who are
of the Law are heirs, faith is made void and the promise is nullified; 15
for the Law brings about wrath, but where there is no law, there also is
no violation. 16 For this reason it is by faith, in order that it may
be in accordance with grace, so that the promise will be guaranteed to all the
descendants, not only to those who are of the Law, but also to those who are of
the faith of Abraham, who is the father of us all, 17 (as it is
written, "A FATHER OF MANY NATIONS HAVE I MADE YOU") in the presence
of Him whom he believed, even God, who gives life to the dead and calls into being
that which does not exist.
A Prayer:
O God, we thank You for making us what we could never be. Salvation is
from You, from Your grace and mercy and great love. Lord, increase our
faith. Draw us into Your presence and teach us relationship with
Yourself. Help us to abide presently and continually in the joy of Your
salvation. Create in us clean hearts, O God, and renew right spirits
within us. May souls come to You through Jesus, as we lift Him up in the world.
We pray in Jesus, Amen.
